Hawaii School of Dental ArtsHawaii School of Dental Arts is located in a working general dental office. For students interested in dentistry related professions, this unique educational setting affords them with the opportunity to practice their new skills in an actual work-place environment. In addition to the advantages of this hands-on learning opportunity and experience, the instructors have worked and taught many years in the field of dental assisting and dental administration. By combining reading, instruction, projects and exercises with the actual experience of working in the HSDA dental office, students most efficiently acquire the skills and information necessary to find employment in their chosen dental related profession.
Course Objective
The objective of HSDA’s The Art of Dental Assisting program is to help students achieve a level of competence in expanded dental assisting functions that will qualify them for an entry to mid-level position as a chair-side dental assistant in a general dental practice. The program’s emphasis is on the clinical skills necessary to perform tasks required in a working dental practice.
